About Friends of Burma
Friends of Burma was founded in 1985 by Dr. Neil and Diana Sowards of Ft. Wayne Indiana. We are a unique Missions Organization in that all work and administration in the United States is done by volunteers. 100% of money donated goes for Christ-Honoring projects and support of various Christian organizations in Burma (Myanmar). This country has a tremendous network of Christians whom are mostly Baptist as a result of the Missionary work of Adoniram Judson 200 years ago. Today foreign missionaries are prohibited by the oppressive military junta that controls Burma. Your support goes directly to the Burmese to further the Gospel of Christ through Seminary Training, Orphan care and education, Christian Medical Clinics, and various humanitarian relief efforts such as support for retired Pastors.
